LAMINAR HEAT TRANSFER IN A ROUND TUBE WITH RADIATING HEAT FLUX AT THE OUTER WALL
The purpose of this paper is to present a solution, verified experimentally, for the problem of laminar heat transfer in a round tube under conditions of radiation from the outer wall into a zero temperature environment. The flow has a fully developed velocity profile as it enters the heat transfer section. The heat transfer was calculated by assuming linearized radiation and an exponential kernel approximation. This linearized solution is compared both with experimental measurements and an exact numerical solution available in the literature. Close agreement is found with the solution presented here and the experimental resuIts.
