HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN A BOUNDARY LAYER OF NON-NEWTONIAN FLUIDS
Аннотация
The theoretical analysis of the problem of a boundary layer of non-Newtonian
fluids obeying the power law of the relation between the components of the
stress tenzor and the tenzor of speeds of deformation is presented.
The class of the similarity problems of a boundary layer with heat and mass transfer
is found and studied.
The exact analytical and numerical solutions of a number of important problems are obtained.
The influence of non-Newtonian properties of a fluid upon velocity profiles, temperature fields and boundary layer thicknesses as well as upon friction and heat transfer is discussed.Empirical formulae applicable for engineering calculations are proposed.
New approximate methods for calculating characteristics of a boundary layer for non-isothermal surfaces of arbitrary configuration are worked out.
