Аннотация

For highly efficient energy utilization, advanced heat storage systems, such as heat pipe, heat pump have been gaining a great deal of attention. In particular, in high temperature region, a chemical heat pump is considered to be a unique technique and many candidate reactions have been proposed. Among them, simple reversible reaction of BaO/CO2/BaCO3 is very suitable for high temperature thermal energy storage and upgrading above 1273 K, because the reaction can occur at a temperature even higher than 1273 Kat 101 kPa of CO2.
Studies of carbonation of BaO at 973-1523 K and decarbonation of BaCO3 at 1273-1523 K under various CO2 pressures have been carried out using a thermogravimetric analyzer. It is found that BaO reacts with CO2 below the thermochemical equilibrium pressure, and in both reactions, the reaction rates and conversions increase with an increase in reaction temperature. However, the influence of temperature is more pronounced on decarbonation compared to that on carbonation. It is found that both reactions are affected by CO2 pressure. Reaction rate expressions of the carbonation and the decarbonation are presented.
