Аннотация

This manuscript presents a computer solution methodology and the results for predicting spray type refrigerant evaporator performance. A computer code based on elemental NTU-ε method was developed. A falling film evaporation model based on the superposition model was used for the prediction of the refrigerant side heat transfer. The predictions of this model agree with experimental data of a R134a spray-type evaporator at various water temperatures and evaporator pressures. At a fixed condenser cooling water temperature, the evaporator performance increases as the saturation temperature increases. At a fixed condenser cooling water temperature, the evaporator performance increased as the chilled water temperature increased. At a fixed chilled water outlet temperature, the evaporator heat transfer rate reduced as the refrigerant inlet vapour quality increased with increasing condenser cooling water temperature.
