DIRECT CONTACT CONDENSATION OF STEAM FLOWING NORMALLY ONTO A FREE SURFACE STIRRED FROM BELOW BY JET INJECTION OF SUBCOOLED WATER
摘要
Results are presented for direct contact condensation of steam on subcooled water in a pipe, where the steam flow is normal to the free surface. Conditions on the water side were varied by injection of subcooled liquid through jets of differing diameters, at different levels beneath the free surface, and at various angles to the pipe axis. Three modes of condensation were identified, a quiet mode where occasional pressure spikes occured, an intermittent burst mode, and a flame like continuous burst mode. Average heat transfer coefficients were evaluated and correlated against a near surface turbulence velocity scale.
