COMPARISON BETWEEN PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS AND COMPUTER PREDICTIONS FOR A 1.4 MW AIR-COOLED CONDENSER

Air-side data are presented for an air-cooler condensing R12. These performance data were obtained, by courtesy of Carrier FES Ltd and Fluor Daniel Ltd, during a programme of plant acceptance tests at NEL, and are presented for operation of the
exchanger over a restricted range of process conditions.
Measurements include air-side heat transfer in addition to measurements of aerodynamic performance. Comparisons are made between the thermal performance measurements and the predictions of the HTFS air-cooler simulation program, ACOL4.
Comparisons are also made with HTFS methods for aerodynamic performance prediction.
