Abstract

PGV-1, a 45 MW model of straight tu be steam generator for sodium heated fast breeder reactors, has been submitted for one year to extensive testing. This paper is aimed at analysing steady state conditions for the evaluation of heat transfer coefficients in the various regions of PGV-1. The calculation entails the determination of the effective heat exchange surface of the tube bundle. An other problem is how to make allowance for the radial temperature gradients in the calculation of heat balance. Some consideration is made on the influence of experimental errors on temperatures and flows.
