PERFORMANCE OF AN INDUSTRIAL AIR-COOLED HEAT EXCHANGER WITH CONTROLLED AIR RECIRCULATION
Abstract
Performance measurements have been made on an industrial sized air-cooled heat exchanger fitted with air recirculation ductwork and three sets of louvres any of which could be operated manually or automatically. Results are presented on:
·control of air inlet temperature ·air inlet temperature distribution and longitudinal gradient ·air velocity distribution ·bundle, louvre and by-pass ductwork pressure drop ·effect of changing by-pass width ·installed fan characteristics ·natural convection coolinq ·control of process side outlet temperature.
