Abstract

Thermoelastic measurements have been realised by means of a standard infrared camera, on samples submitted to a cyclic loading. Thanks to a numerical lock-in procedure or a statistical treatment, amplitude maps of the infrared signal can be calculated, then converted into stress amplitude maps. A procedure is proposed to restore the thermoelastic sources distribution, taking into account the optical and thermal transfer functions.
