Abstract

The present paper describes an experimental research of spray falling film boiling on the second generation horizontal mechanically made porous surface tubes (JK-2 tubes). R-113 was used as working fluid. The results indicated that the heat transfer coefficients of the JK-2 tubes were 54%−190% higher than those of the JK-1 tubes and 5.3−7.0 times higher than those of the smooth tube. This paper also describes investigations of critical heat fluxes (CHF), wall temperature traverse profile around the test tubes and hysteresis of the JK-2 tubes. In this paper, mechanisms for the JK-2 tubes to enchance spray falling film boiling are also analyzed in detail.
