Abstract

A mechanistic model is proposed for the heat transfer of dispersed flow film boiling initiated from the dryout of annular flow, involving the correlations of the droplet size, drag and heat transfer coefficient for calculation of wall—vapor-droplet heat transfer. The data for development of the model are obtained in the steady state experiment with simultaneous measurements of wall and vapor temperatures over the range of pressure of l-60bar, mass flux of 24-1020 kg/m2s and inlet quality of 0—1.0. A comparison of the model with some typical correlations is made.
