THE MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL NONSTATIONARY NONLINEAR TEMPERATURE FIELDS OF GAS-TURBINE ENGINE BLADES

Abstract

An effective package of applied programs GERMES-02-T was created on the basis of the finite element method. These programs are intended for numerical analysis of heat conduction boundary problems. The finite elements library makes it possible to investigate various three-dimensional structures.
The material of the structural elements may be inhomogeneous and anisotropic. The algorithms take into account local, tensor characteristics of heat conduction. Any boundary conditions of heat transfer may be used.
To increase the accuracy of computation the thermophysical properties and boundary conditions are approximated using form-functions. Approximation with respect to time and temperature is carried out using spline-functions. A non-linear temperature problem is solved by the iteration method at each time step. The global system of equations is linear. From 3 to 4 iterations are necessary at each time step to obtain convergence.
With the help of the GERMES-02-T package, numerical analysis of the heat state for a cooled metal moving blade and uncooled carbon-ceramic nozzle blades is carried out. The areas of maximum local temperatures and temperature gradients are established. The effect of the local boundary conditions on the blade heat states is examined. The comparison of the analysis results shows that the carbon-ceramic blade has higher level of temperatures and temperature gradients.
