Abstract

The non-linear problem of free convection in rotating porous media is investigated with the objective to provide the impact of convection on heat transfer. A truncated Galerkin method is used to obtain a set of ordinary differential equations for the time evolution of the Galerkin amplitudes. A semi-analytical solution to the system of ordinary differential equations is obtained by employing Adomian's decomposition method. Different heat transfer regimes associated with steady, periodic and chaotic convection are identified and the resulting rate of heat transfer is presented for each regime
