Abstract

Direct numerical simulation has been conducted to investigate heat transfer and liquid turbulent flow with clusters of beads and springs in a channel. The cluster represents tangled polymers. The computational results show that the clusters inside the ejection of low-speed streaks cause an increase and a decrease of the correlation between wall-normal velocity fluctuation and temperature fluctuation. It was found that the clusters inside a shear-dominant structure do not affect this correlation.
