Abstract

The object of consideration of this work is the process of bulk condensation in a gas-vapor mixture flow. The results of numerical simulation for a dusty flow demonstrated the possibility of controlling the process of homogeneous condensation by choosing the parameters of heterogeneous condensation centers (dust particles) introduced into the flow. The variable parameters are the mass concentration and size of dust particles as well as the initial subcooling of dust particles. The effectiveness of the control depends on both the parameters of the dust and the partial vapor pressure at the inlet of the nozzle. The correct calculation of the parameters of the condensational aerosol formed during homogeneous condensation in the presence of centers of heterogeneous condensation requires the use of a three-temperature approximation
