A MODEL FOR ANALYSIS OF THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION WITH INJECTION OF A HEATED JET INTO AN ISOTHERMAL FLOW
Abstrakt
The temperature distribution downstream of a jet entering a turbulent boundary layer is predicted using a simple conduction model. The turbulent eddy diffusivity used in the model is determined empirically from previous experiments. The model is also compared to earlier measurements following a point source of heat and a point source of mass which were each located on a wall over which a turbulent boundary layer was flowing. The analysis is particularly successful at low injection rates. If a number of injection holes (or sources) are present, superposition will permit use of the model to predict the temperature field.
