NATURAL CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER WITHIN A SECTOR-SHAPED CAVITY
Abstrakt
A Two-dimensional natural convection within a sector-shaped cavity with parallel circular walls at different temperatures and flat adiabatic side walls has been
investigated numerically by using the finite-difference method. The parameters herein are Prandtl number 0.71, sector angle 45°, Rayleigh numbers from 5×103 to 5×104, tilt angles from O° to 90° and radius ratios from 0.375 to 3.0. The results show streamlines, isotherms and velocity distributions, as well as heat transfer correlations. The minimum mean Nusselt number occurs at the point of transition from a conductive heat transfer to a convective heat transfer based on radius ratios. Results are compared to previous experimental work with good agreement.
