The Effect of Distributions of Nanoparticles on Thermal Conductivity of Nanocomposites
Abstrakt
The effect of the distributions of nanoparticles on the thermal conductivity of the nanocomposites is studied in this paper. The thermal conductivity of the nanocomposites is computed by solving the Boltzmann transport equation (BTE). Centralized distribution distribution of nanoparticles leads to a higher thermal conductivity than uniform distribution. If the nanoparticles are staggered along the direction of heat flow, the thermal conductivity becomes smaller. However, if the nanoparticles are staggered perpendicular to the direction of heat flow, the thermal conductivity becomes higher. Increasing the MFP or decreasing the size of grain makes the effect of distribution of nanoparticles stronger.
