NUMERICAL MODELING OF WATER AND HEAT FLOWS IN UNSATURATED SOILS UNDER ATMOSPHERIC EXCITATION COMPARISON WITH FIELD DATA.
Abstract
A general physically based formulation of water -both in liquid and vapor phases- and energy transport in partially saturated soils coupled with a lower atmosphere boundary layer modeling is presented. It is driven by standard meteorological data. Numerical results are compared with fields data obtained at several locations on a 4000 m2 bare soil. Good agreement betwen observations and computed values demonstrates the reliability of such a model.
