A NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF THE BOILING CRISIS PHENOMENON
Abstract
The object of this work, is to simulate the heat transfer between a flat, horizontal heater cooled by a pool boiling liquid by solving the heat conduction equation within the heater with appropriate boundary conditions relating the growth and departure of vapour bubbles to the dry spots and wetted areas on the surface.
The numerical solution of the model allows the computation of the averaged local heat flux and surface temperature, and, thus, of the boiling curve.
