CRITICAL HEAT FLUX IN BOILING
Abstract
Results for critical heat flux (CHF) obtained in the last decade are reviewed with special reference to the fundamental mechanism as well as the coherent understanding of CHF on a uniformly heated surface. In the first place, studies relating to the CHF mechanism in external flow, including pool and forced convection boiling, are discussed. Then, studies on the systematic nature and the mechanism of CHF in forced internal flow are reviewed in the following two sections. Finally, recent studies of subcooled CHF are referred to.
