EFFECT OF FREE-STREAM TURBULENCE ON HEAT TRANSFER BEHIND A RIB AND INCLINED DOWNWARD STEP
Abstract
In the paper, interaction of separated turbulent flow with highly turbulent free-stream field is analyzed. Experimental data on the effect of free-stream turbulence (Tus≈l÷15%) on the pressure coefficients and heat-transfer processes behind a rib and downward step of different height (H=3÷30 mm) are presented. The inclination angle of the step wall varied from 90° to 15° Peculiarities are considered of heat transfer intensification in the recirculation zone as well as in the reattachment and relaxation regions as dependent on geometric parameters of the obstacles.
