INTERFEROMETRIC STUDY OF RADIATION-CONDUCTION INTERACTION
Sinopsis
The interaction of thermal radiation with conduction in a horizontal fluid layer is experimentally and analytically examined. The temperature profiles in a 2. 55 cm heated-from-above fluid layer bounded by two aluminum surfaces are obtained with a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The temperature data are recorded for a pressure range of 25 to 300 kN/m2 for pure CO2 and N2O, and for mixtures of CO2-CH4 and CO2-N2O. The surface temperature gradients are compared to analyses based on the gray gas model, the box model and a wide-band gas model.
