A MODEL FOR TWO-PHASE FLASHING FLOW IN GEOTHERMAL WELLS
Résumé
Steam-water flashing flow occurring in geo-thermal wells that produce from liquid-dominated reservoirs was modelled using a flow-pattern-oriented analysis that treats each of the basic flow regimes that develop successively up the well individually. The model employes flow regime transition criteria that are based on physical mechanisms. The flashing flow model was incorporated into a thermohydraulic model for the entire well in order to predict its production performance. A computer algorith was developed for integrating the appropriate conservation equations numerically up the well in order to evaluate its flowing pressure, temperature and steam quality profiles. The predicted total pressure drop, wellhead steam quality and flash depth are in good agreement with the available geothermal field data.
