THE THERMODYNAMIC OPTIMIZATION OF HEAT EXCHANGERS ACCOUNTING FOR FOULING EFFECTS
Résumé
This paper investigates the irreversibility of counterflow and parallel-flow heat exchangers with gas or liquid as the working media by using a modified entropy generation number method. The results show that there is a number of heat transfer units and a capacity ratio for both counterflow and parallel-flow heat exchangers in which irreversible losses are minimum.
