NON-STEADY-STATE HEAT TRANSFER IN QUENCHING THE SHS WAVE BY IMPINGING JET

This paper reports experimental data on rapid cooling the SHS-sample by a water jet issuing from a slot (circular) convergent nozzle and impinging normally on the hot surface.
The cooling rate attains the value of the order of 104 K/s in the post-reaction zone and above 103 K/s in the combustion fronts at the jet velocity of 30 m/s.
