DOWNSTREAM INFLUENCE OF FILM-COOLING IN A SUPERSONIC TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYER
Аннотация
A method for predicting film-cooling effectiveness in supersonic turbulent boundary layers is developed which considers two-dimensional and axisymmetric flow. The approach utilizes the Eckert reference enthalpy method which allows one to approximate an actual compressible condition to an effective incompressible case. A further modification is included that applies a step - temperature distribution at the intersection of the injecting and solid section to correct for the temperature discontinuity in the immediate downstream region from the ejecting site. A comparison is made to the limited number of available data in supersonic flow and shows fair agreement to flush and rear-facing slot geometries and good agreement with porous type injecting geometries. The comparison was made for air and foreign gas injection data.
