Аннотация

Hydrogen is considered as one of the significant energy sources in this century. Methane steam reforming accounts for over 60% of global hydrogen supply and will be the primary method in the next 20 years. The packed bed reactor plays a key role in the process of hydrogen production. To improve the hydrogen production, investigating the novel structures packed bed reactor is an effective approach. In this work, the packed bed reactors integrated with the internal helical heat fins were investigated. The effects of different geometry parameters heat fins were compared, which contains the width, the height and the quantity. It was found that the convection thermal resistance is larger 10 times larger than the conduction thermal resistance and hydrogen production mainly depends on the convection thermal resistance. While the quantity, the height and the width increase, the convection thermal resistance normally decreases and the hydrogen production is larger. While the quantity equals 4, the hydrogen production is increased by 38% at maximum compared with the normal reactor. As the height equals 4.2 mm, the hydrogen production is increased by 16% and the hydrogen production is increased by 14% as the height equals 1.3 mm.
