CALCULATIONS OF DIRECTIONAL RADIATIVE INTENSITY IN ONE-DIMENSIONAL GASEOUS MEDIA USING LBL AND SNB MODELS
Abstract
Directional radiative intensity provides fruitful information inside the participating media, and is very useful for inverse analysis, such as temperature and species concentration reconstruction. In this work, directional radiative intensity in one-dimensional gaseous media is calculated by the line-by-line (LBL) and the statistical narrow band (SNB) models. Homogeneous media of CO2, H2O, and the mixture of CO2 and H2O, with constant temperature are investigated. Comparing with the results by the LBL model, the results calculated by the SNB model have a very good accuracy. The maximum relative difference of results by these two models in all considered cases is less than 3%. The SNB model with proper generated parameters is a good choice to calculate directional radiative intensity for isothermal and homogeneous gaseous media due to its high accuracy and relatively short computation time.
