EDDY DIFFUSIVITY DISTRIBUTION NEAR THE WALL
Résumé
Turbulent heat transfer in a rectangular duct was studied by the use of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Experiments were made at Prandtl numbers = 6 ~ 40 and Reynolds numbers = 10,000 ~ 24,000. The eddy diffusivity for heat transfer was expressed by the following equations.
4 < y+ ≤ 14 εH/ν = 1.31 × 10−5 (y+)4
14 < y+ ≤ 42 εH/ν = 1.93 × 10−4 (y+)3
42 < y+ εH/ν = 0.36 y+ - 1
No dependence on the Prandtl number could be detected in the range of the experiment.
